We would like to share with you the results of 2020, which has become a landmark for our festival and for Azerbaijani animation in general.

III ANIMAFILM International Animation Festival was held in Baku and broadcast online on October 14-18. The main purpose of this year's ANIMAFILM Festival was to support and educate children and youth during the war. This year, the program did not include any entertainment (including screening of the competition). However, the educational animation workshops, opening and closing ceremonies, meetings with the International Jury and announcement of the winners took place as usual.

The 3rd ANIMAFILM International Animation Festival will be held online and in Baku on 14-18th October 2020! The main purpose of this year's ANIMAFILM Festival is to support and educate children and youth during the war. ANIMAFILM International Animation Festival proudly declares that III ANIMAFILM Festival will be dedicated to the children and youth of Azerbaijan. The festival will be held in Baku and broadcast online from 14th to 18th of October 2020. The aim of the 3rd edition of ANIMAFILM festival is to support and educate children and youth of Azerbaijan during difficult times of escalating Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, where Azerbaijan fights for its internationally recognized and historical territories currently occupied by Armenia.

The selection committee of the III ANIMAFILM International Animation Festival announces the list of animated films and screenplays that will be included in the competition program. THE SELECTION COMMITTEE: The selection committee for animated films: Nazrin Aghamaliyev (Azerbaijan), Aydah Hasanova (Azerbaijan), Liz Manresa (France), Sophie Vimont (France), Nicolina Sterbet (Moldova/Italy), Demetrios Poursanidis (Greece). The selection committee for screenplays: Sevinj Azimova (Elsever) (Azerbaijan), Jahangir Selimkhanov (Azerbaijan).

A new award for category "Best Azerbaijani Short Animated Film" is established for the upcoming ANIMAFILM Festival in cooperation with the French Embassy in Azerbaijan, ​​the French Institute in Azerbaijan (IFA) and with the support of the Annecy International Animated Film Festival. This year's winner of the ANIMAFILM Festival will have a chance to attend in the 2021 Annecy Festival in France and receive professional MIFA accreditation. Return flight to France and accommodation in Annecy of the winner will be covered by IFA.

3rd ANIMAFILM Festival has announced the members of its jury, composed of professionals and children from France, Czech Republic, Belgium, England, Georgia, Russia, Iran and Azerbaijan. Two International juries and one Children jury will evaluate animated films and screenplays of competition programs of the festival, which aims to support talent and further development of animation. Members of the Jury for Animated Films: Olivier Catherin (France), Nancy Denney-Phelps (Belgium), Daria Kashcheeva (Czech Republic), Zurab Diasamidze (Georgia), Shamil Najafzada (Azerbaijan) Members of the Jury for Screenplays: Aaron Wood (England), Mohammad Zare (Iran), Rana Vaezi (Iran), Alena Polikowska (Russia), Oleg Safaraliyev (Azerbaijan) The international jury will be led by Nancy Denney-Phelps, well-known journalist writing about European animation and festivals.
